Why I Titled This Blog: AND
You know how this goes, we all do it, yes, you do it too, you use the word "but" without thinking, when you really mean “and”.
The title of this blog, AND is one of the most powerful 3-letter words we have. Some are mistaken into thinking that BUT is the most powerful word – so they use it a lot! For example, "I'm good at what I do but I haven't made partner yet." Substituting "but" with "and" empowers us, allows us to see what's working so we can build on it, and is actually more honest because it is allows both sides of the statement to be true. Why not see things as they truly are and can be, rather than focus on what's missing? Using the word AND draws attention to our capacity to increase positivity and possibility in our lives. Try using it and see if you love it. My intention with this blog is to open to an ongoing dialogue about issues that come up in the world of coaching, which is to say, in our lives. I hope you'll join the conversation.

I’ve immersed myself in the literature of positive psychology as well as attended conferences sponsored by Harvard Medical School and The Mind Body Institute on Resiliency to learn more about how I can use my coaching to help clients more consistently be their best selves both professionally and personally.
The strengths movement tells us that when we know our strengths, find opportunities to use and grow our strengths we're 6 times more likely to be satisfied in life.
